Let’s make the workplace accessible – for everyone

October 15 2019 3 min

At Qmatic, we consistently strive to create products and solutions that can be accessed and used by as many people as possible – regardless of disability or age, and we are committed to ensure that the main interfaces of our products and solutions conform to level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

“Imagine if you could not see your computer or mobile screen. This is a fact for many people across the world. Accessible solutions can be the difference between being able to work – or not. That’s why we decided to enhance the accessibility in our solutions to make life easier for citizens, and to empower staff members that are visually impaired. It’s about putting people first.”

As a result, we are pleased to announce that our most used staff applications for serving clients and managing customer journeys are now WCAG 2.1 compatible, making them accessible for individuals with cognitive and visual disabilities. The staff applications are designed to be used with accessibility screen reader software and include, logical tabbing between objects, better contrast and descriptions of buttons and fields.

This will enable people across the world to take part of the job market and improve the work environment by making it inclusive and accessible for everyone. In the process of making our software more accessible, we have also made our staff application Concierge 60% more efficient, enabling staff to work smooth and effective.

Today, there is a great need for accessible solutions. In the United States and Canada, accessibility compliance is mentioned in every single public RFP. In the EU, new directives have been implemented from September 23, 2019, which states that all new public sector websites and mobile apps must conform to level AA of WCAG.

As a part of making the workplace accessible to everyone, we are proud to announce the following solutions that conform to WCAG 2.1:

  • Concierge meet-and-greet application
  • Counter serve application
  • Web booking

Join us in making the workplace accessible for everyone. Today and in the future.
